Deep Improv: Playback Theater in Action –
Discover your amazing Improv talent. In this course, you’ll tap into your natural creativity and empathy as you learn to bring personal stories to life in spontaneous theatrical vignettes. Playback Theater is a powerful and unique form of improvisational theater where real-life stories take center stage. Participants will share and explore, using movement, metaphor and spoken word. Develop your improv skills, deepen your listening skills, and build connections! No prior theater experience needed. Just come and play!

Playback transforms audience member’s true personal stories into theatre pieces on the spot using spoken improvisation, movement and ritual. In this introductory workshop participants will experience warm up games, short forms and story improvisation techniques that capture the essence of this unique interactive art form. Facilitated by members of the Bay Area Playback Theatre company this promises to be a fun, challenging, enriching and meaningful experience that can lead to a regular class and consideration as a future company member.
